Pattern grading
One pattern.
A full size range.
Once you've approved the base pattern we've developed for you, we grade it across your size range, so a size 8 and a size 18 both look like your design.
How we grade your pattern
Three steps from one size to many
- 01
Start with the approved base size
The fit is agreed before grading begins. Grading an unfinished pattern copies its problems into every size, so we only grade once your base pattern is signed off.
- 02
Grade to your size chart
Agreed grade rules guide each size. We grade to your own size chart, or set one up with you to suit your customer and market.
- 03
Check the key measurements
We review the measurements across the whole size range and check the graded nest before it leaves us.
We only grade patterns we've developed
Grading is part of our pattern development service, so we grade the patterns we've made for you. We don't grade patterns from other studios or pattern cutters. We know how every one of our patterns was built and fitted, so we can stand behind each size we grade.
